Originally a duo, Tommy Bledsoe and Joy D’Elia played harmonica and banjo (the “skin and bones” ancient rhythm instruments made of rib bones) on the streets of St. Augustine performing music from Tommy’s Appalachian heritage and Joy’s strong harmonies. The band became a trio when it added Kathe O’Donnelly’s rhythm guitar and rich vocal talents. The band members play multiple instruments, including banjo, harmonica, fiddle, bass, jarana, ukulele and guitar, featuring a full-string band sound.
The beautiful outdoor setting will be the perfect backdrop for Skin and Bonz music along with a Vespers service. Scots-Irish significantly shaped the culture of Appalachia from the early 1700’s onward so theirs is the perfect music for St. Patrick’s Day eve.
