Our season finale for Jazz Vespers on the Commons will feature The Evan Anderson Jazz Ensemble from the University of North Florida. Performing with Evan will be Justin Archinihu, bassist and Spencer Boyum, drummer.
Evan Anderson is a senior Jazz Studies major at the University of North Florida. Evan was raised in Orlando, Florida, where he began teaching himself piano at the age of 15. Soon he started to take lessons with a great teacher who inspired him to pursue a career as a musician and composer. Evan has had such accomplishments such as winning 3rd place in the Central Florida Jazz Society competition, receiving the Northeast Florida Jazz Association (NEFJA) scholarship, winner of Jacksonville Jazz Society scholarship, among others. Evan has been apart of multiple studio albums and has had many of his compositions recorded and performed. Evan plans to move to New York where he will continue to his studies as well as continuing to write music, perform, and be a recording artist.
We have a unique opportunity to see and hear them perform here at St. Cyprian's. Prepare to be inspired by these young men!
