Sermon by Rev. Steve Seibert
Hey, it’s Easter Sunday, but I’d like us to retrace a bit from the last seven weeks. After coming down from the mountain of his transfiguration where Jesus had taken us to pray, Jesus set his face towards Jerusalem. In early March, we were marked with ashes as a sign of our mortality. I am reminded by our gospel reading for today of the dinner at the home of Lazarus just two short weeks ago. Mary, the sister of Lazarus, chose that event to anoint Jesus’ feet with ointment. Hers was an act of extravagant love.
