The Washington Post reported, “Healthy, boosted people unlikely to develop severe omicron infections, but jury’s out on older, at-risk populations.” Since the demographics of St. Cyprian’s tend towards the “older, at risk population,” for the health of all in our congregation the Vicar and Mission Board feels that is better to err on the side of caution by suspending in-person worship until this surge in infections abates.
I know I speak for others in saying that I am disheartened by this turn of events. However, for almost two years the people of St. Cyprian’s have shown an amazing resilience in the face of this pandemic. This community of faith has responded to our circumstances with care and compassion. Your faith and prayers have permeated our congregational life. We have walked this path before, and we can do it again … with hopes that this path is at least a little shorter and smoother.
Our Sunday service of Holy Eucharist will continue to be streamed on YouTube Live. And, the church will once again be open for prayer and meditation every day of the week from 9am until at least 4:30pm.
Stay safe and be well.
Blessings and peace … Ted+
